The Yellow Back White Breast Red / Black Head Gouldian Finch is one of the most beautiful colour combinations produced at Lady Gouldian Finch Canada. Its brilliant white breast flows into a rich, buttery-yellow body, creating a clean and elegant foundation for two very different head colours.

The Red Head is a particular favourite at our aviary. Its fiery red mask creates a spectacular contrast against the crisp white breast and brilliant yellow body, producing an intensely colourful bird that immediately catches the eye.

The Black Head offers a much softer appearance. Against the Yellow Back mutation, the normally dark head becomes a more muted grey, complementing the white breast and warm yellow body rather than creating the bold contrast of the Red Head. The result is a subtle, beautifully balanced bird with an understated elegance of its own.
