Reservation Policy

    All Gouldian and Parrot finch mutations constitute a finch that is not a homogeneous green back or is stated as a mutation on description pages.

    All Gouldian and Parrot finch mutations are bred on a consignment basis only.

    Mutations are reserved only after a 30% rehoming fee is deposited.

    Reservations are confirmed only after a reservation contract is signed by both breeder and adoptee.

    The reservation fee may not be cancelled after a 30-day grace period (30 days from receipt of the reservation fee by Lady Gouldian Finch Canada).

    Reservations are not guaranteed. An adoptee may have their reservation fee refunded if Lady Gouldian Finch Canada is unable to breed the desired mutation within the contract period (i.e., if finches are not received by the contract deadline).

    All sale birds (whether on a third-party online sales site or at a bird show) are sold "as is" and cannot be returned without veterinarian certification within 7 days after adoption.

    All single hens sold are subject to an additional 15% adoption fee due to demand.

    Lady Gouldian Finch Canada reserves the right to refuse to sell to mills or other institutions that may harm the birds physically or emotionally.

    Adoptee Gouldian and Parrot Finch mutations will come with certification of hatch, for a small fee ( if desired) including parentage and mutation verification.

    All finches up for adoption at Lady Gouldian Finch Canada are parent-reared, close-banded, and fed an extremely protein-rich diet unless otherwise stated prior to sale.

    Finches are not prophylactically treated, to foster healthy immunity in the flock.

    All birds are kept in spacious flights or cages; there is never any overcrowding.

    Facilities are cleaned twice weekly (including cages and accessories).

    Cages for blue back mutations may be cleaned up to 4 times per week to prevent illness and promote health naturally.
