The Pastel Blue Gouldian Finch combines the beautiful cool tones of the Blue mutation with a softer, more delicate expression of colour. Its pastel blue body and back provide a striking background for the characteristic Gouldian mask and rich purple breast.
 
These distinctive birds are known by several names depending on the breeder and terminology being used: Pastel Blue, Single-Factor Blue, or Blue Dilute. All three names refer to the same distinctive phenotype.
Pastel Blues are available with Black, Red, or Orange Heads, each producing a noticeably different appearance against the softer blue plumage.
