About Straw Head Colour
In White Breast Blue Backs, the distinction between the Salmon (Red Head) and Straw (Orange Head) masks becomes considerably more subtle.
With reduced expression of the pigments responsible for the stronger head colours, the Salmon mask becomes paler and can appear increasingly similar to Straw. As a result, distinguishing Red Head from Orange Head in this mutation can sometimes be difficult based on appearance alone.
We will identify the head colour to the best of our ability, but cannot guarantee Red or Orange Head with 100% accuracy in White Breast Blue Backs.
